Metashape were appointed at RIBA Stage 4 & 5 to produce technical design and construction packages for refurbishment of the Learning Centre, Robotics and Automation Lab, Space Engineering Lab and Power and Renewable Energy Lab at the University of Portsmouth’s School of Engineering. The project is located at the Anglesea Building, an existing three storey building arranged in a ‘T’ shaped block which houses undergraduate and postgraduates providing courses in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, product design, industrial design and innovation engineering. Metashape worked closely with the main contractor, consultant team and sub-contractors, to coordination design information to meet the necessary Building Control compliance and to ensure that the new architectural environment could comfortably house the specialist equipment and machinery.
